Every once in awhile, a WordPress plugin just deserves a shout out.
Today’s is Login With Ajax. It got my largest donation to a WordPress plugin yet.
What the plugin does, is converts the WordPress registration (wp-signup) and login (wp-login) processes. As the name implies, it converts them into AJAX instances that run on the page you were visiting.
There are many ways that this could be beneficial, but for me, it saved hundreds of hours/dollars in having to reverse-engineer the WordPress user account/registration/login system to do what I needed it to do.
Don’t want to tip my hand as to what project(s) will benefit from it just yet, but this part of it is trivial, and even if it wasn’t, this plugin deserves a spotlight, shout out, and all the credit that the author deserves for putting this in. I have personally talked to several (and by that, I mean dozens) of WordPressers that have complained about the registration/login workflow in WordPress.
If you are ever in that situation, give this plugin a serious look.
