By Christopher Price on December 20, 2007

Today, I’ve rolled out the Mac OS Tune-Up, which is a collection of every Mac OS Software Update, as well as updates for software bundled for Mac, such as iLife. The goal of the tune-up is to allow you to copy all the available Mac OS software updates to a flash drive, DVD, or even [...]

By Christopher Price on December 13, 2007

Apple Software Update now lists QuickTime 7.3.1 and GarageBand 4.1.1. Looks like the QuickTime update fixes that nasty RTSP exploit that was demonstrated on Second Life. Update away! QuickTime 7.3.1 QuickTime 7.3.1 addresses security issues. This update is recommended for all QuickTime 7 users. By Christopher Price on December 12, 2007

For some weird reason, Leopard ships with HP AiO 4.0, while HP AiO 4.0.1 has been available since October. Even weirder, some Leopard systems pick up the update when running Apple Software Update, while some don’t. And, that’s even taking into account an HP all-in-one printer added to the systems. Finally, weirdest, Apple doesn’t offer [...]

Codec Day… DivX for Windows 6.8

By Christopher Price on December 4, 2007

Seems to be a codec-filled day… First Xbox 360 adds DivX, then Adobe Flash adds H.264… now DivX has updated DivX for Windows to version 6.8. Run the Check for Updates… app in the DivX menu to grab it if you’ve already installed.

    Micromat Taxes TechTool Pro 4 Owners… Again…

By Christopher Price on November 29, 2007

Micromat has come up with a crafty way of taxing TechTool Pro 4 owners to keep using their software… refuse to offer the updater online. Granted, I’ve butted heads with Micromat in the past on their practices, but like I’ve said in the past, I do buy and use their products, as there isn’t anything [...]
