Today is National Burger Day. Or, at least, Jack In The Box says it is.
I’m on the road a lot, a surprising amount for my job description. So, I know just about all the fast food menus out there. I know the good, the cheap, and the disgusting.
Sadly, there is a massive gap in the Jack In The Box family. The lack of a BBQ burger. Every year, during the summer, a small number of Jack In The Box stores offer a barbecue cheeseburger. Most do not.
So, on this extremely-important day, I will offer a homebrew remedy. How you can quickly make your own BBQ bacon cheeseburger at Jack In The Box.
To start, order a Jr. Bacon Cheeseburger. Hold the mayonnaise, and the ketchup. Then order one side of onion rings. Finally, when you get your food – ask for a side of barbecue sauce.
Now, in your car, pop off the top of the bun… add the onion rings… and pour the barbecue sauce on it. Presto! You now have exactly the same sandwich as a Carl’s Jr. (or Hardee’s) Western Bacon Cheeseburger.
You can upgrade or retrofit from there on your own. Bigger bun, 1/4 pound patty, whatever.
I hope this makes your National Burger Day just a little bit better.
Tried it twice bad both times. First: got spicy chicken wasn’t but a tablespoon of BBQ sauce. Dry
Second: same BBQ sauce, none. This time onion rings so old and hard my dogs wouldn’t eat them.
There’s no ketchup, mustard or mayo. And basically no BBQ sauce either.
