The Mac App Store that Never Was, and the Windows App Store that May Be

Published by Christopher Price on October 21, 2010 | 2 Responses

A long time ago, in a Mac industry far, far away, there was a project I was secretly working on. It was a Mac App Store. For the sake of the developers, I’ll call them Team X. Team X had a great product on the market, it was great at updating Mac software. I wanted […]

My One Suggestion for VaultPress

Published by Christopher Price on October 6, 2010 | Leave a response

Yes, a rare blog post on my own blog. I’ve been testing out VaultPress for awhile, and I’m pretty happy with it. While a bit pricey right now, it does deliver a lot of bang for its buck if you have a high-profile web site. If WordPress is part of your day job, VaultPress should […]

Acer Not Giving Gateways Equal BIOS Treatment

Published by Christopher Price on September 5, 2010 | Leave a response

A long time ago, Acer bought Gateway. And, they’ve been effectively rebading Acer models as Gateways for awhile now. So, I was interested in updating my Gateway EC1803u, which I bought from TigerDirect. My only complaint about the laptop thus far, had been the monumental effort I’ve had to undergo to get my Bing cashback… […]

PSA: Update Google Analytics Tags

Published by Christopher Price on September 5, 2010 | Leave a response

I’ll keep this one brief. I’ve noticed issues with older Google Analytics tags. They report receiving data, but they aren’t working right. Some of the issues are really sporadic. So, just update your Google Analytics tags if you aren’t using the latest generation. That appears to be the cure-all. Mkay?

GM Must Quickly Correct Chevy Volt Misconceptions

Published by Christopher Price on September 3, 2010 | 3 Responses

I’ve heard about a dozen times on talk radio that the Chevy Volt is “$10,000 more than the Leaf, which goes 125 miles… while the Volt only goes 40 miles.” And, every time, I want to pull my hair out. Worse, I know one of two of these talk radio hosts is doing it on […]

Zeta’s Future for New GM – Each Division Gets a RWD Sedan

Published by Christopher Price on August 16, 2010 | 1 Response

Over the past couple of years, I’ve taken quite a liking to the Zeta platform at General Motors. Designed mostly by Holden in Australia, it’s an amazing rear-wheel drive platform. In America, we know it as the Pontiac G8, and more recently re-tooled for the Chevy Camaro. After the Pontiac division was deactivated, many thought […]

Photo: Civilian Trim for the 2011 Chevy Caprice PPV (The Pontiac You Can't Buy)

It’s no secret that GM is using the Caprice PPV to gauge and leverage consumer interest in the car. Just like how interest in Pontiac rose at its demise, GM is proudly telling consumers “you can’t buy the new Caprice.” I have suspected from day one (literally), that GM plans to offer the Caprice within […]

Suggesting A Third Track for WordCamp

Published by Christopher Price on May 1, 2010 | 2 Responses

For starters, I’ll say that I like WordCamp. Before I start suggesting improvements, I wanted to get that out of the way. Matt delivered, as usual, a great State of The Word address. The BBQ lunch was infinitely better that what is served at conferences that cost several times more. And, even the non-WordPress talks […]

On Quantcast & Public Access

Published by Christopher Price on February 11, 2010 | Leave a response

At Newsroom Network, I like to keep the operation as open as possible. However, starting today, we’ve decided to block access to our viewership data, which is measured independently by Quantcast. I wanted to take a moment to explain why we did this, and why it’s good for Newsroom Network and for you. First, competition […]

At Macworld Expo 2010

Published by Christopher Price on February 10, 2010 | Leave a response

I’ll be at Macworld Expo starting tomorrow night. As I usually do with trade shows (when I’m not already hopelessly over-booked), I like to be open and offer to meet with just about anyone… fans… people that want to write for the sites, all the way to companies exhibiting. Just hit the contact me link […]
