Navigon GPS Firmware Updated

Published by Christopher Price on February 6, 2008 | 6 Responses

A ton of these were sold on/around Black Friday, so I felt obligated to note that the Navigon 2100, 5100, and 7100 all have new software updates. You do have to register the GPS unit online to get the download, but it’s straightforward after that. Navigon Software Downloads

iCab Rises from the Ashes

Published by Christopher Price on February 4, 2008 | Leave a response

iCab is best known as being the little browser that could for Mac. It is considered the best web browser for Mac OS 9, being the last to maintain active updates for the operating system. iCab kept a focus on being minimalist, which enabled it to run better on slower systems, a major plus when […]

Best Buy Totally Fixes In-Store Kiosk

Best Buy Totally Fixes In-Store Kiosk

In case you were following the Best Buy In-Store Kiosk saga, I’m happy to report the final case-closed update on the matter. Best Buy In-Store Kiosks allow users to browse the store in an interface that matches BestBuy.com. Initially however, they only listed in-store prices, which were not the same as referenced online. Sometimes they’re […]

Best Buy Clearances: Seagate, Maxtor, Glow Lamps

Published by Christopher Price on February 1, 2008 | Leave a response

A few Best Buy deals I’ve scooped up over the past couple of days that might interest ya’ll. Remember, these prices do not match online, and many times only some stores in a market carry a particular price. You can, of course, have one store price match another Best Buy… so get acquainted with pitting […]

Write Down Passwords, for Your Own Good

Published by Christopher Price on January 29, 2008 | 1 Response

Today I did something that I’ve been putting off for awhile. I wrote down all my passwords, and put it in a safe place. It feels morbid to do, so I decided to write an article vindicating why I did it… and why you should to. Obviously, the first reason comes to mind: you die. […]

Published by Christopher Price on January 28, 2008 | 5 Responses

For those people interested in migrating from Joomla! 1.0 please note that this is a continuously evolving process and is likely to be refined and optimized heavily over the next few weeks as feedback is received. There is no immediate need for people to migrate existing Joomla! 1.0 sites to 1.5 so please be patient […]

iPod touch Requires Upgrade for Third Party Apps?

Published by Christopher Price on January 28, 2008 | Leave a response

Something is becoming pretty clear; if you want to run third-party software on your iPod touch, Apple’s going to ask you to pony up for that $20 software upgrade. The software upgrade, for those of you that don’t have iPod touches, adds the payload of iPhone software. You know, the payload everyone has been complaining […]

Resigned to the Nokia N95-3… iPod touch too

Published by Christopher Price on January 28, 2008 | Leave a response

I’ve come resigned to getting the Nokia N95-3. Spending far too much on the phone is something that I’m not that savvy to. But, then again, I did camp out 36 hours to pay $599.99 plus tax on an iPhone. The combo of the N95-3 and iPod touch appears to be the optimal solution, at […]

Mac HP Photosmart Driver Update

Mac HP Photosmart Driver Update

As usual, HP is botching a driver update for Mac. With the release of Leopard, some Photosmart systems didn’t have Leopard drivers. HP said that the workaround was to install Tiger, install the HP driver set, and then upgrade to Leopard. One problem with that… new systems can’t run Tiger (not to mention the obvious […]

Memtest86+ Got Updated Too

Published by Christopher Price on January 27, 2008 | Leave a response

During the Macworld rush (note to self, post rest of Macworld coverage), I didn’t notice that Memtest86+ was updated. Memtest86+ is the de-facto standard for memory testing. The utility runs just about every memory test under the sun, and auto-loops. With a robust range of specialized chipset support, I prefer it to Microsoft’s Windows Memory […]
